BRUIN DIRECT (Direct Deposit)

Beginning with the Fall term of 1998, all financial aid disbursements (credit balance refunds) through the UCLA Billing and Receivable (BAR) system will only be available through BRUIN DIRECT. What is BRUIN DIRECT? It is the electronic deposit of funds directly into personal bank accounts. BRUIN DIRECT may be used for checking or savings accounts at any bank or credit union in the United States. BRUIN DIRECT means you will get your money faster and more conveniently. It is important that you sign up early.

TO ENROLL IN BRUIN DIRECT USING YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT: Complete an Authorization Form and submit it with a current voided check that matches the checking account you plan to use to the Administrative Main Cashier Office, 1125 Murphy Hall. If you do not have a voided check, please provide your bank’s name, address and routing number. This information is available from your bank. All of the banking information on the Authorization Form, including the account number, MUST match the information on the voided check. Your name should also appear on the account.

TO ENROLL IN BRUIN DIRECT USING YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT: Complete an Authorization Form and submit it with a current deposit slip that matches the savings account you plan to use to the Administrative Main Cashier Office, 1125 Murphy Hall. If you do not have a deposit slip, please provide your bank’s name, address and routing number. This information is available from your bank. All of the banking information on the Authorization Form, including the account number, MUST match the information on the deposit slip. Your name should also appear on the account.

Please look for your Authorization Form to arrive in the mail shortly and return it to the Administrative Main Cashier Office, 1125 Murphy Hall. If you are currently enrolled in BRUIN DIRECT you do not have to complete a new form unless your banking information has changed. If it has, please provide the new information to the Administrative Main Cashier Office so your Fall disbursements will not be delayed. To ensure that BRUIN DIRECT is effective for Fall 1998, the Authorization Form must be submitted by July 15, 1998 for Semester students and August 1, 1998 for Quarter students. An electronic message will be sent to your current email address before every deposit. It is extremely important that you keep your UCLA email address current in URSA Online. Please consult the Schedule of Classes on how to update this information. BRUIN DIRECT will remain in force until you leave the University.

*FFELP and private paper loan checks are not eligible for direct deposit.
